How effective do you think it is?
I live in the UK, which is a country that makes heavy use of CCTV. If someone committed a crime, and was "spotted" by some CCTV camera, what do you think are the chances that facial recognition technology when then be applied to the situation? Would a computer program search through millions of known faces, and then find the person's face, and then use various internet-based resources to track down that person very quickly? Or have things generally (not just in the UK) not advanced that far, yet? Does anyone know about this stuff? --- Sunhawk's main alternate account. Curious. I thought there would be a few people on CE who were very knowledgeable about this.
Back in the day, there were plenty of techheads on this board...actually, there were TOO many techheads on this board. Talking about being computer programmers, "software architects", IT help desk people, and so on. Best to avoid those topics, circa 2006. --- Sunhawk's main alternate account.
