i don't get it. is he purposely trying to be the most evil piece of shit alive? the virus is negatively affecting red states more than blue states, so it's not like he's doing it "to pwn the libz lulz!". swing states are a mess too, so if anything it negatively affects his campaign as well.

so how the fuck are we this deep into peak covid with so many illnesses and so many deaths and this dude is ignoring the shit and just letting it happen? is he pure dumb or is he pure evil?

I think it initially started because the measures necessary to combat it would hurt the economy, the one thing he had going for him. After that, it's just a combination of incompetence, malice, and inability to admit that he's wrong.

He's trying to will it away. If he says it's no big deal enough times, then the virus will get frustrated because it's not getting the attention it wants and it will go away and leave us alone.

If he admits he's wrong now, he's going to look like the biggest fool ever. He should, and just accept that; but for someone with an ego bigger than Soviet Russia that's not going to happen.

agreed.

he truly thought it would go away by March, sort of like SARS and MERS did. He wanted to keep the economy going so he could get re-elected, even if it meant a few thousand deaths, say, 10,000 deaths. He is that much of a psychopath.

but then COVID started getting worse and worse. His first knee jerk reaction was to deny deny deny. He thought he could just call it a hoax and fake news and sabotage any virus coverage. Sure, people will die, but nobody will know or believe it.... only people did find out.

then for a short period of time he tried combatting the virus, until he figured out its too much effort (and he hates effort) and threw his hands to the air, gave up, went golfing and tried to turn the page

now he is going back and forth between trying to make it worse because he thinks it will please Putin and also because it will allow him to postpone the election, or pretending things are a-ok.
