one I love. I really like a LTD PB401 Ive had for like 12 years but its too heavy, so I started my search. Mostly Buying online and selling in person or online, playing in stores but nothing stood out. Stuff I bought online mostly sounded like crap. Like I could dial something in I liked, but I had to spend a ton of time and the amp settings end up being weird AF on occasion. Like guitar set all the way to bass and bass set to 10. Tried it with a different amp and same result.

Well, my cable was bad. Switched out cables today and one guitar I thought sounded great through its built in headphone jack and like crap through the quarter inch jack sounded good through both. This guitar is still a bit difficult to dial in (its a full sized scale but headless and the body is small with the much of the back cut out to make it 4 lbs) but I can still do it.

Now Im wondering if I sold one I wouldve really liked. Probably not as I think I still got a feel for them and some of the major characteristics...but yeah. I feel kinda dumb with it being the cable, for some reason my LTD does well with that cable other guitars dont so cable sounded fine with my control group. The cable is like 16 years old.

Favorites were gorgeous PRS Special Edition Core Mira and a 7-string Strandberg. The Mira was too aggressive and the Strandberg was cool but I decided against a 7 string...Id be interested in a 6 string Strandberg (because theyre 5 lbs) with passive pickups and a fixed bridge...their classic series looks cool though and is a bit cheaper. Really dislike the tuners on them though because theyre so hard to turn. Also has a guitar where you could plug a stethophone into it and listen to it that way.

Current guitar Im using. Not as warm as Id like Id like and doesnt sound as full as Id like, but love the weight. Wish it had a neck pickup also. Thinking Ill change the tuners out with locking tuners if it doesnt add much weight.

Strandberg Im looking at, should be a better mix of weight and sound but pretty expensive. I hate how uncovered pickups look so Ill try to put on covers if I get it. I like the convenience of the on board pre amp/tuner of the traveler though.
