The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky FC - 9.5/10
Snagged this one because a bunch of my pals over on another GameFAQs board were all hyping this series up and telling me to play it. Very solid classic turn-based RPG, reminiscent of the old Final Fantasy games. Has one of the best stories of any RPG I've ever played, and my favorite thing about this is how much detail goes into the backstory of every single NPC in the game. Crazy ending too, and I started playing SC right after finishing this.

Shadow Hearts: From the New World

8/10 Heard people really shit on the game, but I was pleasantly surprised. Not as good as Shadow Hearts 1 (and still playing through Covenant so I can't judge), but I enjoyed the gameplay and the story wasn't too bad.

Batman Arkham Asylum - 9/10

This is my 5th time playing through the game. Its superb on every single play through.

Witcher 3 - 9.2/10 (i have NOT beaten the expansions yet)

Great game, great story, great characters, fun exploration, the only drawback is the combat can get pretty stale once you get used to it. Pretty typical dodge and attack and repeat.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake - 9/10

I think the combat system was fun, though your AI controlled characters are garbage. They excel only in staying alive and not really helping. At all. The characterizations are excellent and really flesh out the relationships a lot, both for hero and villain. I felt they definitely padded in the lab, the climb to the tower, and the lamps. Overall it was a wonderful experience that hopefully will only get better.

Bioshock Remastered

First time I've played and beaten it since 2007. It was still pretty fun and kind of addictive, but way easier and shorter than I remember (granted, I played it on Normal). I would give it a solid 7/10, maybe it could have gotten a little higher if I was experiencing the story for the first time (story-wise it stuck pretty well in my memory).

Oh wow really? I keep hearing that. I played HOMM 1 and 2 when I was a kid. I really liked HOMM 2 more. I remember playing HOMM 3 at a friends house and thought they went overboard with troop upgrades. I never sunk my teeth into though so I cant say if I liked it or not. Im planning on picking it up after doing all the campaigns in HOMM 2 @Jeff_AKA_Snoopy

The Last of Us 2 - 9.5/10

Powerful follow-up to the first game. It really deepens the emotional core and pushes it in some powerful directions with its narrative structure.

I haven't played this game at all - so is that a thing that necessarily happens as you progress or is it optional in order to flesh out the world?

I love the soundtrack of the game in any case

I really think that I will like it a lot more at my current age vs when I was a younger. I think it was nostalgia that was blinding me since I was wishing it was more like HOMM 2
