We Americans have cultural defiance. We (every last one of us, me too) believe we are free. Our cultural defiance is why we have a fascist president. Look at the topic on this board warning us of menaces to our freedom. We create them, we post in them and cultural defiance warms our hearts.

People in this country protested for a week. Did we get better roads and sidewalks? A reduction in sales tax? The 6 hr work day? Universal dental care? *thinks of Miracle Boyd*

Cultural defiance. The only good thing about cultural defiance is it is the one thing we Americans have in common. Paradoxically, cultural defiance always keeps us fighting each other. Protester and cop. *laughs til it hurts*

Stuff like lying to your boss or your neighbor, buying drugs under the table, ignoring speed limits (and stop signs) are cultural defiance.

I am old and tired and ready to give up my cultural defiance for central air conditioning.
