I personally think if done right gold looks baller as fuck. Look at this 2017 Ford Escape: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/ZlW9vvekpLY/maxresdefault.jpg I think that looks dope but it's more of a "white gold metallic" and if it were like 24k gold it wouldn't look good IMO.
