Quentin dies? I really enjoyed the series of books but couldnt much get into the show. Felt like it had too much filler imo.

yea, it's been a while seen I've seen it, but Eliot ends up being possessed by this dark entity that was so powerful it could kill gods, so the gods locked it up far away

and Quentin sacrifices himself so he can save Eliot, the rest of his friends, and everything/everyone else to stop it

Interesting. I guess I did like the scene. But man, the books are SO different from the show. In the books (The Magicians book series SPOILERS!), the series culminates with Alice and Quentin using a spell to create a new Fillory-esque world and going off to explore it, with the others of the group becoming rulers of Fillory and Julia becoming a demigoddess. Also, Alice does not have nearly as much screen time and has an entirely different plot for her character.
