Sometimes you find something that changes your outlook on life. You take a long hard look at something that someone put their time, their hopes their blood and sweat and tears and put it into it and they say, here it is, Im ready for the world to see it. And then you look at it and you wonder if anything in this world has any meaning. Is there anything of any value, does anything have any quality? Are you as a person capable of making anything worthwhile? Because someone made this, and thought it was worth showing the world and now you wonder if anything ever will be any good again ever.

And Adult Swim would definitely show this in a block with 12 oz mouse. No lie.

Please tell me that is not a real thing.

The best part is how he thinks it looks like a cartoon and that it would be a shock to realize it's just special effects.

Anyway the OP is how I felt when I discovered this woman's channel.

I kind of just want to cry now. Basically at one point I aspired to create something great, maybe even something average. But I realized something after taking a lot of writing classes, seeing a lot of kickstarters and homemade YouTube videos.

Almost everything that has ever been made ever is terrible. The amount of things that you actually hear about, over half of which most people will tell you suck, like Star Wars and basically every anime of you ask Other Titles, those are the things that were good enough to get made by actual companies with a budget. Imagine the things that werent.

Statistically everything you will ever do is terrible is what Im saying. I feel so sorry for someone who wasted their life like that, like that bullet ball guy on shark tank that became a meme

I feel the opposite. It's liberating to see people chase their dreams without having the talent or the skill. Imagine if most works of art were masterpieces; it would be so much more difficult to think you are capable of contributing anything of value.

Also for every idea that led to a successful product, there's one just like it that died in obscurity because so much in this world is left to chance.

I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops. --Stephen Jay Gould

Good quote there. What you said reminds me of this term I've forgotten but was basically a cultural consciousness--that everyone within a certain culture shares so many of the same concepts that if one person comes up with a revolutionary idea that someone else in that same culture probably has as well. This is also leads to the debated topic that if Hitler were killed (either through timetravel or just naturally died in another reality) things probably wouldn't be much different as some other person with a similar background and way of thinking would have taken his place and started WW2
