They've spent billions of dollars and decades trying to make a vaccine on HIV. It never happened.

Not saying we won't have a vaccine for COVID-19, but you just never know.

Then we'll eventually reach herd immunity (at the likely cost of tens of millions of lives in the US alone), which will only be effective for as long as our antibodies last or until it mutates again (which corona does, pretty frequently). And then the whole shitshow starts over again.

I'd really like to understand why covid is exploding in some places and almost gone in some others even though they got hit at the same time and have similar circumstances. I look at Ontario where I live, population 15 million, we had 76 new cases recorded today and it's been trending down for months.

You're probably thinking, well people are acting responsibly. Not the case - we have our own large number of dumbasses here flaunting the covid rules, not distancing, not wearing masks etc. Mask laws indoors only became mandatory in some parts of the province 3 weeks ago.

So what's the deal?

Its because your people listen to science and dont mind making a sacrifice for someone else.
