Every side has two sides. In this political climate, its easy to forget that - or on the other side, abuse that.

In this topic I want people to state something they believe, then give the devils its advocate. It doesnt matter if its just something that you feel is right, but can be convinced otherwise, or something you believe to the bone, but the other side makes "X" a good argument.

Side: Moderate/Conservative Left
Vote: Radical Left
Feeling: High inequality is what creates revolutions that will destabilize society, Conservative forces are WAY to late to acknowledge progressive ideas that are very reasonable.
Compliment: Markets, is something that the left should recognize as something a lot more malleable and effective than it seems that it does. Ideas can be labelled as progressive too fast and without economic sense.

Feeling (extra): Believe in science, even when it doesnt agree with your world view (problem both for the far left and far right).

It doesnt have to be in the way i did. Throw your insults out there, but make sure you also play devils advocate! ^_^

Side: Indifferent
Vote: No
Feeling: Whining about politics in any sense does nothing. The greater wealth-holders will forever continue to manipulate you into thinking you have any sort of political voice.
Compliment: I get great entertainment out of your attempts to pretend your voices actually matter.

Feeling (extra): I hope you all are being ironic when you discuss politics, because wasting that much time knowing you'll change nothing just seems... depressing

Trump supporters impress me with their ability to keep their heads buried in the sand without coming up for air. That's a very amazing talent!

Well... vaccines and gmos (and to some extent the lgbqt stuff?) might be mentioned as where leftist go off the rails? (though you might not call it science?)

Fair point, as long as you dont complain about politicians =P (George Carlin)
I agree that it can seem pointless, but i guess thats the point with democracy, to a certain extent. Either shut up and dont give a F or try to make a difference and see how many gives a f? -.-

Theres a reason why this stuff is interesting to a lot of people, though. And my bet its rooted in evolution =P

Either adapt to the pain, or get washed away like tears in the rain.

In my country its a "leftist" thing (or used to be at least). A couple of years ago Neil deGrasse Tyson mentioned it as a conspiracy on the left iirc (i think thats where i got it as a left thing)

I think there's some merit to certain right-leaning economic views but that's a dangerous thing to acquiesce to such a greedy and uncompromising sort. The politics and cultural views associated with it are atrocious. I'll add that the application of it in our current times (destroying our climate in general and forcing people to work instead of helping them through this pandemic) is ridiculously evil. But, there needs to be some sort of negative consequences to our prosperity because that's inevitable. The idea that we should deny those consequences as fact instead of addressing them productively is, again, evil to the point of despair.

A compliment for the right?

I can't think of any dictators who had their citizens convinced that they were some divine being sent by God himself. So I guess, congratulations on bringing it to a new level of fanaticism.

Thank you for your response :)

Climate is one of the issues i really have a problem with with the right. In my country its basically just the far right thats on the fence, but every other party have agreed that the science is so clear that this is something we need to solve globally. If the analysis is wrong, at least we didnt "doom" us
I dont remember who said it (i think Bret Weinstein), but he saidsomething like that markets are remarkable at getting things done, but not good at figuring out what needs to be done.

I think it will be an interesting discussion in the future: How many immigrants is my CO2 worth -.-
