If you still have one somewhere in your house, check to see if it's safe.

That happened to mine when I found it a few years ago. Also original Xboxes have an issue with leaking corrosive that you want to check
The first thing I did when I bought an original Xbox from a game store was open it up and remove that capacitor. All it does is keep track of the time.

Ipod Nanos also have this problem around this time. Sadly these batteries just weren't meant to last.

In that particular case, if your Xbox is old enough you can just pull the capacitors out since they're only use is keeping track of the clock. Though if yours is too new (like mine) it requires the capacitors to be replaced, all because Microsoft couldn't afford to use a standard off the shelf cr2032 to keep the clock running.

Any electronics that have a lithium battery shouldnt just be tossed in a box and forgotten for a decade.

Your house is full of hidden explosions.

A decently thick steel box should be okay.

Probably even better, because it can vent gasses.

So what am i supposed to do with it? I can hardly tell on mine but if i put it on a flat table, i can kinda spin it so it means that it does have a very slight convex.
