im actually replaying Skyrim rn

i made an illusion/sneak character and its probably the most efficient way to play. Very little requirements and makes the game super easy

too easy, in fact. I ended up getting bored halfway through

So I made another character, and using mods I gave him all perks at level 1. This might seem silly, but its honestly one of the best playthroughs Ive had, as Im not limited to using certain gear or magic, and everything is useful to me

Skyrim is probably one of the only RPGs I have actually liked. Its a special game at least for me. Tried Fallout 4, Fallout New Vegas, The Outer Worlds, Dark Souls, and a few others I am probably forgetting and they were just not for me. Something about Skyrim and Mass Effect though are excellent. Except ME1 which is pretty shit aside from the story

I should replay Skyrim again one of these days

one day i want to make a housemod on Solstheim for both Morrowind and Skyrim. it would be done in a combination of Nord and Breton/Imperial styles and have a backstory of being commissioned by a wealthy Breton businessman from Stormhaven who uprooted his entire family against their will and moved them to Solstheim for a perceived good business opportunity that doesn't pan out, and leaves him penniless and hunted by either business rivals and/or disgruntled former business partners, and probably having to hire the player character as a guard because of that, but he'll end up dead anyway either from having a target on his back or from committing suicide in shame. whatever way i decide to take it, the family that is left just wants to go back home to Stormhaven and can't pay you, so they just give you the deed to the house and get out of there.

it's going to be called Stormhaven Manor, both in honor of where the businessman is from, and also because it is a literal haven from the storms on Solstheim. it will be known across Solstheim and beyond for its huge Nord-style dining hall, The Hall of a Dozen Hearths, which will be true to its name.

i need to finish the housemod i'm already building for Morrowind first though, which is done in the Hlaalu style and will be just outside of Balmora. and i can't even work on that cuz my PC's got a fried mobo. gonna order a replacement probably tomorrow though.

Ever tried the Clockwork quest mod / player home? One of my top five all-time favorite mods, and a couple of your story beats reminded me of it.

My pleasure. It's largely Dwemer-centric, but the wealthy Breton merchant aspect also applies quite heavily. Beyond that, I'd rather not say much and let you go in as blind as possible.

Totally revamps the game for me. Love going back to it.

Requiem is the only way I play it these days. Actually makes it feel like have proper/individual characters.

Few things more satisfying than hitting a super long range sneak attack with the bow on a moving target with mad Kentucky windage. That little "biong" sound gets me every time.

my favourite thing about long range bow kills is when the arrow cam triggers and causes the arrow to miss

its equally annoying and hilarious when youve got the paralyzing arrows archery perk and you shoot someone from a distance and the kill cam triggers except a) the arrow misses entirely but b) the enemy still gets paralyzed somehow

Its actually nice to not have dragons randomly spawning in to kill useful NPCs. Sucks to be Irileth, though. Shes been waiting at that tower for three months and counting.

I've been playing Requiem with 3Tweaks, the revamped leveling system is SO much better. Magic also isn't a complete stomp at the midgame.

That's because the paralysis effect is a hitscan ability, like firing a bullet in an FPS game. So enemies at long range can be paralyzed and have time to fall over and avoid the arrow. As a result, it's best to never take that Perk.

Just plant some Imp Stool and Canis Root at a Hearthfire home for unlimited Paralysis potions. Canis Root also has a Fortify Marksman effect to boost your bow damage, just combine it with something like Juniper Berries. For high damage output you can also include some Lingering Damage Health, which can be done by adding Mora Tapinella. So, yeah... Imp Stool, Canis Root, Mora Tapinella for poison, and some Juniper Berry with extra Canis Root for Fortify Marksman.
