you get reset back to the moment you were born. in order to get back to 2020 you have to wait in normal time. so you get a redo on your entire life. this time though you have all your memories from your first time around. you could even try to make things go differently if you want

That's why I'd be doing great. I'd go back to 78. The whole tech and dot com booms with knowledge of good times to get out. Maybe I could convince the partents to invest in that japanese card company Nintendo? At least I know I'd be old enough to get on the ground floor of Amazon.

I'd love to for many reasons. Almost just to experience being around my dad and grandparents again.

Speaking of 9/11, I have to wonder if an anonymous phone call on a payphone somewhere would be enough to get the government to at least be more wary and prepared on 9/11.

Or would it just delay the inevitable?

This. It would suck technology wise and I can't imagine I would play nearly as many hours of video games as I did in "round 1", (at least until I end up back in 2020 and experience new stuff again) but it would be almost kind of hard to not end up way more successful in pretty much every aspect of life the second time around.

Imagine being a child again when Pokemon comes out, and you know that in 2020, there will be 890+ of them but it will be years before you see them again and now have to put up with the older games again.

Or, imagine Smash 64, when you have full knowledge and experience with Smash Ultimate.

But I guess in both cases, you could gain notoriety as a "leaker".

I'll go back to save my grandma. She didnt die of old age, she died from doctors operation mistake and neglect.

The only shit thing is that everybody will be different. The current relationship i've developed with my brother, sister and parents, friends will all be gone.

Yeah it would suck having to go through school again with the mind of an adult and already knowing how to read at an adult level, etc.

I wouldn't want to derail things by getting a ton of unwanted attention as a "child genius" (especially since I would just "grow up" into a fairly average adult), so I guess I would have to pretend to be at an average kid level, which would probably be pretty aggravating and take a lot of effort at times.

Even if you butterfly some stuff there's probably more than enough stuff the second time around that would be the same or at least similar enough for you to take advantage.

I was born in 2001, so compared to others I wouldn't get the biggest 'boom' beyond bitcoin. Actually I could tell my parents about who to bet on in terms of things like the Super Bowl or elections. I mean after the first couple they'd be a lot more willing to accept that I know what I'm talking about.

I'd be down.

You could make bank at the patent office and also writing stories/music that people liked that hadn't been made yet. Not to mention having adult knowledge as a kid would make going through school very easy this freeing up a lot of time that you used on schoolwork the first time around and still making high grades.

The only thing that would be really weird is my mind being as old as it is being in a young body and that raises a lot of moral questions especially regarding relationships. Like, I'm 30 but in my new life if I'm in a 14 year old body and a 14 year old girl has a crush on me, is it wrong to smash? And if it is wrong, is it wrong to seek out someone thats my age in mind? Would it be wrong of an actual 30 year old to have relations with me in my 14 year old body even though by that point my mind would be 44 years old (30+14)?

Then you'd get to see family and friends again that died, but then also possibly relive their death a 2nd time wouldn't be ideal.

A lot of pros and cons to this. This is a great hypothetical honestly.

Even with future knowledge there is probably no way you could stop 9/11 without personally knowing someone influential in government.

Thinking about it more you may be able to stop it if you pull off a ridiculous stunt that brings tons of public attention to it (the specific date and method of attack). But this would probably have a huge effect on your own personal life.

The white house had everything on 9/11 but the date. I doubt you could change that without pulling some nostradomas shit to be seen as a prophet.

As for entertainment, I see it as an opportunity, at least since I'm that old.

I can avoid renting all those shitty licensed games and play some classics I missed out on.
I can see some of the classics in the theatres and avoid the Batman and Robin like duds.
I could take advantage of the collector's market.
I could wow the playground with now encyclopedic knowledge of Zelda, Simon's Quest, and other games Nintendo Power was needed for.
I could watch things I didn't get the chance the first time around because only rich people had VCRs and only smart people masters watching one show and taping another.
I could even be part of some milestones like catching the final episode of MASH.

I wouldn't want to go that far. Childhood was pretty crappy. I'd hate to go through the pain of experiencing the losses of certain family members again.

Also, and I feel weird for thinking about it, but would hooking up with classmates I was with in my first run be statutory rape in a way? I'd be mentally in my mid thirties if I lost my virginity at the same time.
