Yeah, but lately, I've gone into the store and noticed the 20 items or less line being faster than the self checkout.

but if i'm going grocery shopping with a lot of stuff then no. i've only had at night when they had all the registers closed and that was annoying on the small ones. it's not AS bad on the long ones but still prefer someone else bagging my stuff.

but if i just have a few things then i'll do self checkout. there's more of them and move faster. but if i see an open register then i'll just go there even if i only have like 10 things.

I did prior to covid. But now I tend to go early in the morning to do my shopping, and they dont have the self checkout aisles open at that time.

Was at Home Depot and two workers tried to help me at the self checkout, started scanning my stuff. had to let them know to back the fuck off, I went to self checkout for a reason... turns out I wasnt in the self checkout line, boy was my face red... good thing I was wearing a mask

I only use self-checkout unless I can see a lane open right away during my walk to the self-checkouts.

Generally yes now, because I have reusable bags and they won't bag them in the normal line anymore.

But if I have a decent amount of things, I'll use the regular line and just bag my own shit. Sucks though because at the end you have to deal with bagging shit and trying to pay and it gets annoying.

sometimes i don't wanna chit chat with a broken retail employee whos either just faking conversation with one word responses or screaming internally when stuck socializing

don't feel bad when you just standing at the register lookin at your phone
i been on the other side and most retail clerks don't give a shit about your life either
they too focused on deciding whether or not to get fired lol
