I never understood this. why would all those animals come to see a new lion get born and bow down to who is going to hunt them later?

Well bugs are still meat so I would think not.

Anyway it's described in the cycle of eating your neighbors. Lions eat their neighbors and probably their children too and when lions die, their body is absorbed into the earth and turned into that grass, which the herbivores eat. As for why anyone would agree to this, it's probably because hyenas have no self control and want to eat more than is sustainable. So lion monarchs are a neccesary evil.

Humans aren't that different, we keep voting for politicians who will fuck us over.

Yes, but that is at least on the pretense of government. Like what does Mufasa really do for elephants. It isn't protection. It's not like the lions are helping secure grazing territory for the elephants.

Elephants should overthrow the lions.

I want you to process that the lions would have to disembowel one of the animals alive to eat and its family would go "May you have a most gracious feast my liege"

I don't get it either.

They are indoctrinated into the Circle of Life propaganda.

Lions keep out hyenas, which are even worse. Theyre like anarchists, the lions provide security in a stable hierarchy and thats the circle of life. Humans have worshipped worse rulers, who had less dignity than a lion.

Mufasa kind of explains it to Simba when discussing the Circle of Life. Predators eat prey, and prey animals eat plants, which grow from the nutrients supplied to the soil by decomposing bodies. Also, he explains that kings need to not only understand the Circle of Life, but also respect all life within it. This means no senseless killing. Prey animals respect a predator's need to eat and desire to survive, and in that way, don't have a problem being eaten. In turn, predators respect their prey enough to not hunt them for pleasure or to the point of extinction.
