I was looking through my Steam collection and noticed that several "paid remaster" games were actually given to me for free because I owned their original versions.

Some of them are awesome like that.

I also bought like one Serious Sam game ages ago when the series was new-ish, and over time they've given me basically every game in the entire series, both normal and remastered, and the VR version, since then. It's p nice. Looking through my games, you can add the Mafia series to the list.
The PC has also had loads of giveaways more generally. If I just played them (and a good chunk are games I'd want to play otherwise), I'd probably be at it for years (not even counting free games in the future). ... Copied to Clipboard!

Those games replace the originals on the Steam store so they probably have the same ID
Thus they remove the original from being purchased so newcomers can only choose the potentially higher price newer version. --- This signature won't be changed until at least one out of Astrograph Sorcerer, Double-Iris Magician, Performapal Monkeyboard or Electrumite is unbanned. 2/15/20 ...
