I mean, if you remove cost of living, California wins hands down.
But if your funds are limited, Colorado is where it's at.

I visited in 2011 for two weeks. I liked what I saw, made it out to Denver for a night, would visit again.

I just realized this is a Democratic state.

I'd consider living there, but I hate how far it is from the ocean

I've traveled all over the US and Colorado was definitely one of the better States.

Washington was really cool too, but insane cost of living.

I've lived my entire life in the capital region of New York, but if I were to move it would definitely bee to Colorado. I have quite a bit of family that have migrated out there, one cousin lives out in Steamboat Springs. Just googling that, it looks like downtown Saratoga but with a giant ass mountain in the background. That's fucking beautiful. I'd move there if I had to move.

Colorado is an S-tier state, and the best I've lived in but there are cons. Such as the lack of diversity as compared to other places like NYC area.

Damn, that's pretty dramatic.

Having said that, at my job now I can make to downtown for my lunch breaks which is pretty sweet.
Actually I walked past the statue that I guess got torn down just the other. I'm not sure what beef they had with it though, I can't imagine it was a confederate statue.

((Also, it absolutely surreal knowing the races are going, but with no one there.))

I remember someone tried tipping over one of those horse statues just for fun. I'm not sure if they were ever able to though, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's what happened with that statue.

I just googled the statue, it appears in was a statue of a union solider.

We enjoy the Rocky Mountains. It's gorgeous but there's no water here. I grew up aground the great lakes.

Dunno. When I was there it was pretty open space-y with mountains. There's plenty of places I didn't see though, so maybe there were some foresty spots?

Someone else can confirm

The thought of that replacing what we have gives me anxiety. I just got really into fixing up yards. It's like my only hobby atm. But it's largely do to how much life there is in it. I don't think Colorado would be as fitting for me right now. Plus our weed laws caught up anyway.

My other hobby is camping by the lake and wooded areas.

Oh there are lakes, and places to camp and wooded areas, but a lot of it is open fields or beautiful rocky terrain.

Ya, it is a fishy kinda story.
Also didn't think it would have cracked up like that. Apparently, they were mass-produced back then.
But ya, just seems like an odd target. Also its odd they have no video of it, even if it happened at night. Side not that statue used to be on an Iand on broadway.
It was sort of a boring statue by Congress Parks standards.

Thank god it wasn't The Spirit of Life.

For the record I dont live there anymore so things could have changed, but when I was there many of the people were huge assholes, and the weather was deadly.

So imo Colorado is a beautiful place, but the weather can be scary, and the residents need to remove the sticks from their butts.

Interesting. My experience with michiganders is that they're very nice in passing. Crazy when you get to know them more. Very mixed batch overall. Neighbors don't go out their way to know each other. First neighbor to introduce himself to me in 8 years was a guy from Texas.
