What do geography majors do after college?

You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.

Geospatial Intelligence
Survey/mapping for various government or corporate project planning needs.
Mapping/GIS is used in a lot of different fields, such as studying environmental change, demographic/sociological changes, archeology (especially when certified with certain remote sensors), emergency response planning, tracking disease outbreaks, that kind of stuff.

Some schools offer a double major program, would you be interested in doing both? Or a custom merged program that covers a bit of both fields.

I've been looking around, there are plenty of positions out there for someone with this education, plus I'll have 20 years of experience in other fields under my belt which won't hurt. The Department of Labor projects that Geography/GIS jobs are going to increase by 15% between 2018 and 2028, so it's not like a dying science.

Yes, this university offers Computer Science or Sustainability as a double major. Computer Science seems like the obvious choice, but a *lot* of the Geography/GIS curriculum satisfies the requirements for Sustainability.

It might straight up come down to that...

I had a hard time choosing a program I like, because I was never too drawn towards college. But when I saw this offered I thought it would be a great way to study a hard science with some culture and history mixed in. But my wife and I were speaking about it last night and I started to remember how I liked our class field trips to sample the water and test its quality from the local creek, and studying rocks, as a kid and I realized maybe Environmental Sciences would be a good choice, too...

My dad was a chemical scientist so that would be more like continuing his legacy.
