Not so much in the US. The only history that matters in this country is our own history to a lot of people. Even then we really don't do a great job of teaching it.

I really dont know man. Even discounting all the historical problems coming out of religion, i do not understand how billions of people can just believe in magic. Faith isn't a good enough answer for me. I'm not even trying to be a dick about it. I (and others im sure) would love the prospect of spirits and afterlife and shit. I doubt too many want to just blink out of existence when they die

But it's magic, and magic isnt real. I dont get it

i prefer to believe in a world where we have souls that persist after death
it doesn't have to be more complicated than that

I've always thought it was kind of bizarre how pervasive religious fundamentalism is in U.S. compared with other western countries.

There's plenty of religious people here in Canada but they're nowhere near what it's like when I go down to the States. People here tend to have more respect for the idea of seperation of church and state.

God just made the thing, he's not governing it so anything that's happened for the last while here hasn't had much to do with him

i was also raised catholic lol but i was never able to believe in the religiosity of it. i went to catholic school from nursery to 12th grade. sort of just went with the flow whenever people talked about "feeling" god and stuff like that

Because with religion, you never have to have an independent thought, you can just float through life thinking you know all the answers and your way is the right way. It's just easier to cope that way.
