Never tried. Don't really want to. I did cut meat for like a couple month though. But that was when I was eating in college dining courts.

It's the bread products and processed sugars that are being avoided in that case. Most animal products are not carb heavy and carbs are what creates fat.

Makes me wonder why the majority of vegans whom I know are fat.

Potato lovers.

They're probably still putting in more than they work out.

So, veganism is purely for ethical reasons... No health benefits?

They don't work out at all like the majority of people I know. Lol.

It takes more effort than eating a clean omnivorous diet, but still has loads of health benefits. Your butthole and heart will thank you.

Compared to the average omnivore diet a well-planned vegan diet is very healthy. But you can be completely vegan and eat really unhealthy. A diet of Oreos would be considered vegan because at its core it is an ethical system, not a diet.

I was 365lb+ when I went vegan and switched to a high carb, whole food, plant-based diet. I started rigorously counting calories a little over a year ago. I've lost 140lbs since 1/1/18 with no regain. I eat starchy foods with just about every meal. I eat potatoes almost every day. Excess calories create fat and a lot of people have no problem finding those. Vegans are no different, especially now that so many junk food and fast food brands are providing an abundance of options unlike ever before.

That's a great idea.

this

It's just like how the whole "eating so and so at night will make you fat" thing is just a myth. If you're on a calorie deficit it doesn't matter what you eat or when you eat it for the most part I don't think eating 1900 calories at 11:30 pm then 1800 more at 1:30 am will do you any favors in that regard
