Right... Billy knows everything about Elvis and the Blues, lived in New York as a child, and had toured America for like a decade. But somehow he missed that the Confederates fought for slavery?

It's not like Roots and North and South were the biggest thing to hit television in that entire decade. But someone Billy was just clueless that slavery was a thing.

Rebel Yell, White Wedding, Confederate flags....

Even if he is British, it was Americans that let this shit fly in the states.

Even I've sang "Rebel Yell" at karaoke not really understanding the meaning of the song.

Literally has a song called "Rebel Yell". He was definitely stoked on the idea of a rebel nation rebelling in a rebellious way, and just probably wasn't very well educated on the actual history.

Or he's a huge racist, won't rule it out.
