Current Events > Im about 75% that my parents and I have Corona

A few days ago I made a topic saying I was scared that my mom had Coronavirus because she was getting symptoms like a feverish feeling (malaise and ache) and felt sick to her stomach. She is also complaining about her chest hurting.

Last night she tried to get up in the middle of the night and fell the fuck out and sprained her wrist. She said she just "blacked out".

Anyway yesterday both of my parents got tested but they said 4-5 days for results. If they come up positive it is pretty much guaranteed I have it too because I've been around them a good bit. I'm pretty much asymptomatic if I do, I have a little chest congestion and a little chest pain but tbh I get that from my pipe when I smoke a lot (and I have been).

Anyways it's kinda trippy my doctor said most people that tested positive so far have been 100% asymtomatic. I am fairly healthy (physically) and I've been taking 4000 iu of Vitamin D a day for the past month or so. O+ blood.

It is kind of a scary thought, but the way shit is right now it seems like catching it is almost inevitable. Just gotta hope you're one of the lucky ones that don't go through hell.

Anyway this is a blogfaqs post in a way but I kinda wanted the opinions of people that think I might have it or I don't have it.

Very little, my parents either go to the grocery really early or they do the online pick ups. Every meal is drive through/takeout or is cooked at home.

No BBQ with friends. Everyone in this neighborhood is middle class Republican, they've been throwing parties and shit since March and have not slowed down.

I've felt kinda shitty the past couple days like I've been fighting off the cold, and the cold isn't quite "taking". I'm thinking about getting tested tbh.

Why? If my folks have it I'm like 99.99% I have it too. My chest hurts worse than "you hit the bong too hard last night" pain but im not short of breath and I only cough up phlegm in the morning.

The only value in getting tested would be to add another number to cases and make me use my sick days at work when I already have like 1 computer to fix every 2 weeks (summer vacation+corona).

I mean I'm not going out anywhere but to Wendy's or some shit ( their breakfast is good as fuck btw). I wear a mask. If things turn for the worst with my folks I'm likely the person that is gonna have to take care of them also.

Some states have ways of helping you and parents, you may want to look into it. Even if you don't get tested, if either one has it you should quarantine, don't go out at all with or without a mask. Look into if you can get any help if you need it, but don't put anyone else at risk. Be smart. Good luck either way man, keep us updated. I've gone through some other shit and just talking about it here has helped me, so keep us in the loop and maybe it will help you.

Do not go out if you even think you have corona. You know that it's likely you do, so do not even risk spreading it.

Yeah I guess I'm gonna have to tell my job and have one of my sisters bring us groceries if they come up positive.

My mom doesn't think she has it, my dad thinks it is about 50/50 whether she/he/we have it. She thinks the reason she fell out was from some new blood thinner and she stood up too quick (which is feasible but she has/had low fever and chest pain and she hasn't smoked in like 10 years)

99% of the time I've been doing that anyway. I was making alcohol runs, with mask, maybe drive through food.

I go outside a lot but not around any people. I'm an avid birdwatcher and we have a ton of Eastern Bluebirds this year and those are my favorite yard bird. We have brown thrush, cardinals, robins, wrens, I've been trying to spot an Oriole because there was 1 nest last year but no luck thus far. My hummingbird feeder has not been claimed yet, there are less of those this summer. About once a day a hummer with hit my feeder and dip off. Usually they claim them and fight the other ones (very entertaining watch hummingbirds fight).
