I had no idea there were so many Tomb Raider games

Tomb Raider was one of the big breakout hits of the PS1 era. Still one of the most famous game franchises overall.

I'm trying to do a series run, just bought the first reboot

I think the original series is kinda clunky and I dunno if I'll do that. Might only do 2006-present, the last six main games

Those were huge in the 90s, tho

I got the reboot, Rise, Anniversary, Underworld & Legend. Didn't really care for the PS1 games.

Thats the order they came out, yes. Story-wise I forget if thats the chronological order though.

Yep.

There's also the Lara Croft games which are the lower budget coop entries. Apparently quite good.

AFAIK Anniversary is just a remake of the original game on the Legend engine, I don't think it ties in too much to Legend/Underworld.

Also I think it's not a 1-for-1 remake of the original but it's been a long time since I played that.

Chronicles was also really fun >_>

I didn't want to but I caved and bought Shadow, just because of the stupid Steam sale.

I think they made Anniversary tie into the Legend/Underworld story, while making it a remake of the first game as well.

From what I've heard the Tomb Raider games are way more about exploration, which is a great advantage to Tomb Raider if that is true

I've never played Uncharted but there's usually not much exploration in Tomb Raider, especially not in the new trilogy - there are open maps but you're generally still shoehorned towards an objective unless you want to pick up collectibles.

By exploration I mean traversing an area rather than searching an open map. Like in Uncharted it's basically fight some enemies, climb a mountain, fight some enemies, scale a wall, fight some enemies, etc.

The non-fighting parts are exploration

call me crazy but new TR would have had much more success if they didn't go the realism route.

the water stage freaked me out in legend

legend and anniversary were both great, underworld is skippable.

@AsucaHayashi It was even worse imo in Rise, I don't remember anything exceptional about that except the way they broach Eastern Orthodoxy as some completely foreign concept. I don't know if they were trying to be politically correct but it was so painful "discovering" things about this religion that is nothing secretive...
