I cant even remember what the original looked like but Ill assume its horrendous by todays standards.

Worse than ffvii's blocky model. the backgrounds is the saving grace, and it still hold up to modern standard (when not upscaled) what LoD really need is good rewrite --- You have the right to remain silent. These upscales usually don't work that well because you're just using the same old assets at a higher resolution. A remake would use new assets designed to actually appear at a high resolution. The problems with Legend of Dragoon are almost completely contained within the overly slow battle system. I highly doubt someone replaying it today would primarily complain about low-resolution backgrounds.
