I got screwed because I purchased some TVIX a couple months ago and it never went up again like I anticipated, and saw this morning that they were closing it in a week and I had to sell at an 800 buck loss :| Basically wiped out whatever I had made from it originally.

That's how most people do it tbh. Buy high because of FOMO. Panic sell when things go south.
