I know it probably varies by person but in general.

People call me by my last name due to my work.

First name. Only person who calls me anything but Andrew is my wife and she'll call me Drew unless mad at me.

Usually some general term like "bud" or "friendo". Though, my bosses usually call me by my first name if they need my attention. No one really addresses me by my last name because I'm not in that kind of professional environment that warrants it. It would be weird to call me by my middle name because it's a masculine name and I don't think of myself in masculine terms or pronouns so I can't even use it as a nickname. I had a cousin who went by his middle name almost exclusively. I think because his first name was generic, but his middle name was really unique so we wanted to stand out more.

There are a few ways to shorten or cutely say my name because it's such an easy name to do that with, but I don't generally like it when people do that. Mostly because one form sounds kinda tomboyish and that's not me, one way just sounds silly, and the cute way I would only let my mother call me so no one else can do that. Then I have some derivatives of my name that are completely unique to the person that calls me by that name.

Let's say for example my name was Jessica. It's not, but this is the best I could think of. Some people try to call me "Jess", but I think that's tomboyish. They've tried to call me "Jessers", but I think that's silly. Then my mom used to call me "Jesse", but only she was allowed. Then I have a cousin who calls me "Jesse Jam", but only she does that because she came up with it. Then an ex of mine used to call me "Jesseboo", which is obviously supposed to be affectionate. Other than that, people just call me by my full first name. Not even my boyfriend calls me by my name. That would weird me out. He just calls me "sweetie". Sometimes "dear" or "honey", but that's rare. AGAIN, MY NAME ISN'T ACTUALLY JESSICA, IT'S JUST A STAND IN FOR MY REAL NAME. I don't think anyone here knows my real name, baring those I know personally or those that have doxed me or remember when I was doxed.

Anyway, I don't think about it too much since I don't think of myself attached to my name. I just think of myself as... "me". But I'm pretty sure that's normal. And that's my take on the matter.

No one calls me by my first name unless it's something official. Everyone I know calls me nicknames commonly used for people with my actual first name.
