Got down there and...red jellyfish...core of the planet was electrified...got nothing. Wow, disappointing

Also found what I assume is the quantum moon, flew right through it

Then went to Dark Bramble. Found Feldspar. Dark Bramble seems like a mindfuck best left until tomorrow. Before quitting I went back to the dude on the home planet where the dark bramble seed is, but there were no extra dialogue options to mention Feldspar being alive. Shame

I like this even though I feel like I'm making slow progress.

I guess those red fish are anglerfish; I found something to do with that on one of the twins, a fossil or something, and one of the notes in the Hollow I think said that fossil could provide information on how to deal with them? I think? I need to actually do something with the Giant's Deep core at some point

I guess I got lucky with this; once I was inside the Bramble, I put the signal locator on and just kept launching myself through the gaps until I was almost right next to him. Was very quick.

Game reminds me of Myst a bit. Same feeling of a grandiose mystery, but feels smaller. Cozy? Probably something to do with the music. I'm still frustrated with the controls now and then, though getting better, but this is good shit and very different

So I want to explore the twins now. Looked at one of them already a bit, now waiting 10m at the fire so some of the sand will have migrated over from the other one.

Aaaand crashed into the sun when I was distracted by some kind of satellite orbiting it. Gonna look at that first if I can stick the landing.

Well.

Found a very large tower in Ash Twin with those spiky balls blocking an elevator. I fired a scout into the elevator, doesn't look like there's much up there but I still really want to get in there

Also found my way into the shelter on Ember Twin. Found some stuff in there, probably more to find though. It filled with sand so quickly! I found my way through it but ended up at the Gravity Cannon and was unable to re-enter. Will try again to explore more of that place, I guess.

Using the ship log to reset what I know and what I need to pursue

Got in there just as the room was starting to empty of sand, but got killed by the spike balls - I think I rushed it, will try again

I forgot what warp panels looked like so I got into the room only to find nothing there - went back in again later to see a message saying the warp had been closed for like 1 minute, so I tried again

I'm so glad I didn't have to land on this thing

Shit, the sun station is so great. First time in the game I've said "fuck, this is so cool" out loud. Read the warning last, telling me I only had 1 minute before the station was destroyed, so having collected all the information I GTFO of there and propelled myself through space back onto Ash Twin, which felt pretty cool

That said, it seems a little bit like a dead end in terms of making progress - although the computer saying it was the end of the natural life cycle is a little bit concerning. Oh well, I have many other leads to chase up - including going back to Dark Bramble and exploring the cavern city again.

Went back and talked with Chert before the end of the loop - he's panicked! All the stars are dying, not just this one. Nice to see some changes in dialogue.

I got to the core of the Interloper. I thought it'd be something to do with getting the shuttle off of it on Ember Twin, and then going back to the vacated area, but it wasn't. Instead I stayed on there and found the melted ice. Pretty sad that apparently Poke and Pye both died in there.

So I was looking for the fossil to figure out how to evade the Anglerfish, but accidentally found the entrance to the HIGH ENERGY LAB, a much bigger prize, so after like four attempts I finally got in there

And got all the lore and what have you, kinda explains the 22-minute thing anyway...then I started PLAYING WITH THE WARP CORES

Alright let's get back on the horse

I found out that Anglerfish are blind. Is that really the whole big secret? I'm not sure how to use that. Maybe it means I shouldn't use my jets when they're nearby.

OK, progress. I was able to get back to the distress beacon while not using my jets. This time I shot a scout into the hole - really should have done that last time but forgot.

Still got eaten by the fish on the way to the duplicate scout, but I think that was because I brushed against it. Gonna try again.

Well I got there - decided to eschew the ship and just went in my suit

Reached the vessel and couldn't actually get inside, then ran out of oxygen

Frustrating! Nearly got it though

I will admit, I struggled in the ship too, even knowing the theory. I almost always went in my suit as I found it easier to thread the needle.

Pro tip though, you can use the right stick as much as you want, it won't alert them.

Once I figured out there were no Anglerfish in the first few screens - ie I could get to the Escape Pod and go to the vessel from there more or less unencumbered - things went a lot faster

So I got in and...didn't learn a whole lot new other than, yes, the universe is dying. A frustrating dead end. Found the puzzle with the lights but had no clue how to solve it. My guess would be there's either something I'm missing - there was a round depression on top - or the clue is somewhere else

Next lead is to go back to Feldspar and pursue the secret of getting to the core of Giants' Deep. Then probably the Quantum Moon, if I can? Also didn't see the sand city in its entirety, so there's that.

OK well, two tangents there

I found the Orbital Probe Cannon on my way into Giant's Deep and explored that. Found some stuff, looks like it fired towards Dark Bramble...please don't tell me I have to go back in there =(

And then I RAN INTO THE TOWER OF QUANTUM TRIALS BY ACCIDENT
The Quantum Moon was orbiting it, so I went to fly through it in case something was different this time and I actually landed on it. But I went through like normal and carried straight on to the planet - and I must have ended up in just the right cyclone because suddenly there was a huge tower there. I completed the puzzles, and it was fun, though I didn't learn that much new at this point.

Wow, getting down into the core of Giant's Deep was beautiful. Kaleidoscopic, trippy shit. Turns out I didn't need the island with the frozen one after all.

Aaaand turns out they found the eye of the universe. And provided coordinates. I took a photo of it because that will come in handy later I guess

Next up I suppose is to try and get to the Quantum Moon, but I haven't the first idea how to do that. Back to the Gravity Cannon on Brittle Hollow for starters, I guess.

Hmm really? What I learned there kinda blew my mind. It was probably a top 5 moment in the game for me.

EDIT: I suppose you may have already known what that Tower teaches you, but I'm honestly not sure where else in the game you learn it.

I went to the lakebed cave on Ember Twin a while ago and teleported around while standing on the rock - went to a completely new place once all the light was off. So the thing about stuff "observed" not moving around wasn't all that new to me.

OK, wow, damn, I never would have figured that out. Pretty clever solution. So it needs to be...opposite of where I initally land? Or where the shuttle is? I guess we'll find out.

It's located in a cyclone much bigger than the rest. So no real trick to it, you just need to notice that and then try to land in the middle of it.

Oh yeah, now I remember. I noticed the big cyclone and was like, wonder if I can get in there. Then I did.

I think it's kind of funny that that tower was like, the only explicit puzzle-game segment in the game

OK took me a minute but once I started looking at the world-radar thing telling me where on the planet I was, and changing the terrain, I figured it out

Approaching Solanum was terrifying. I had no idea what it was at first. Her being a "living" Nomai was so cool though. Then conversing with her in that way. This game!

And then the way they have the first thing you see when you go up through the eye/vortex be Solanum's body, confirming her hypothesis that she is not alive. She's Schrodinger's Solanum, I guess? What a bizarre situation.
