Which should I do first: watch the movie or read the graphic novel ?

A few years back I was gifted the DVD/Blu Ray of the movie , and the graphic novel, but never watched or read it. Which one should I do first ?

the series is not an option, because I would plan to watch it afterward.

Graphic novel if possible. One of the best works of fiction ever written.

Also, the graphic novel is a pretty easy read even if you're not used to reading comics, since it keeps a easy, steady grid layout 99% of the time.

Don't forget to read the articles at the end of each issue! Except the one about birds.

The graphical novel got a much bigger character and world building which is impossible to fit in a single movie.
So they had to change and remove stuff for the movie. The movie itself is pretty good for most parts, especially for being a comic book adaption, but the graphical novel is so much better.

The graphic Novel is top notch, but the ending of the film is actually better.

The movie will spoil the plot and give you a shitty ending.

The movie will not make sense without reading the graphic novel first.

Also the ending of the movie shits the bed so read the book first.

Ditto for V for Vendetta or any movie or TV show that draws inspiration from a comic book story line.

The movie isn't bad (debatably) but a lot of concepts from the novel are covered at a breakneck pace.

The movie is well worth watching but you'll enjoy it more if you read the comic first. Then see the movie.

Then see how wrong Frostshock is and laugh at him for several minutes.
