By country of origin, perhaps. By style of the subgenre, no. If I recall, the largest distinction is between a tightly-defined narrative versus player/character agency. Even computer-style versus console-style is a misnomer these days.

European RPG. If anything that makes the game have a better chance of not being buggy on launch. Lord knows Skyrim took months to get completely fixed up.
