Looks like corona isn't just spiking in GOP states. Blue states at risk too.

I thought California extended their state at home order three months like a month ago. What happened?

Here's a simple guide:

Red state = governor's fault
Blue state = Trump's fault

A lot of rich people and republicans didn't want to listen. Gavin Newsom got pressured by big money donors to reopen, and this is the result.

ew. I work at a casino and asked what would happen if there was another stay-at-home order, and my department head was all "we don't have to shut down."

Yea. I can see that. Do people ever look at the demographics of the places being hit the hardest? Even if a state is red or blue they have places that aren't like that. Like NY is blue state but portions of upstate are red and NYC is mainly blue. Florida and Texas have blue areas too.

I don't know Florida, Texas, and CA demographics. But the place in NY that got hit the hardest was NYC while the upstate red areas weren't hit as hard.

same thing that happened in every other place. Dumbasses didn't listen. They've issued a mask requirement like 2 weeks ago. most places are holding to it strictly and for the most part everyone (at least around me) seems to be doing their part, but everything is open again.

Upstate NY is an entirely different state than the rest

Upstate NY is like 90% farms and cows, rural areas aren't gonna be hit as hard.

California was doing great but LA has a really high population density and there's a lot of spillover from stupid red hats in orange county who are going out of their way to pretend covid isn't a thing at all.

Is it more testing? How's icu capacity? Positive tests going up without a respective increase in hospitalizations could just mean more people are getting tested, correct?

You don't get hospitalized over night, in the next couple weeks we're gonna see a huge spike in deaths and icu numbers.

Have y'all seen the cdcs new way of counting cases? It's not one positive test equals one case anymore. For some reason in early June they decided to make it 1 positive case means we assume everyone around you probably has it too and they count that as cases. That's why cases are all of a sudden exploding for no reason and the number of deaths aren't being reported. There was no reason to change the way they calculate it like this. It really feels like to me the government wants to just find ways to continue this shit. They love having more power. As Nietzsche said it's the will to power more than anything else. Just like things like the Patriot act. They never will give up the power.

Look I got no problem wearing masks and taking precautions until this has died down to a Japan or Korea level. But our agencies simply aren't counting cases like they do in Europe or Japan or other countries. They're literally doing it different for no reason. Europe has had the same stay at home orders and mask wearing order and is city like too and filled with protesting people on both sides. Why aren't they getting huge spikes all of a sudden?

LA County did. There have also recently been more closures in the hardest hit counties. That was within te last week or so though so the results of that would not should up in the daily count yet.
