one of my cats is being real troubled and the vet says hes fine. But he keeps self harming himself and marking shit. I can deal with everything but the marking. Hoping this thing calms him down

How old is the cat, has this happened before? How long has he been doing this, and what brand name food do you feed them?

Sorry for all the questions, but i've had cats all my life, and I had an older cat that started acting like this before. Information will help get you some kind of answer.

Hes gotta be about three. Yeah, hes always been a strange cat but its amplifying now. Hes been marking stuff since the first night we had him. I gotta ask my wife what food I dont know the brand

Is he fixed? Was he older when you fixed him if so?
What i'd do is get a common hair comb, any color but black, and give him a good combing down over a lot of his body. See if you find any black specks, stuff that looks like black dirt, or even flakes that look like dandruff. Even if they are strictly indoor cats, it's summer, and a flea can hitch a ride on your clothes and you can infect your home without even knowing it. As an officer, you also likely respond to properties that have animals, which may have fleas or mites, and again you can unknowingly carry them home with you and they can hop on and breed super fast. We got him fixed already by the rescue he was maybe a 6 mont-1 year kitten. Hes a Siamese type of mix. Ill get a comb when I get home and start looking through him to cancel it out
