thank you ubisoft for making the ship stuff which i hated in origins a much bigger part of the game
traveling sucks, combat sucks
tedious as hell

fuck this shit

I'm having difficultly understanding how anyone could find the ship stuff fun

Currently level 35 after a six(?) month hiatus, just starting in on the ship stuff again as I needed wood.

It's fun and I like the lieutenants, but cannons > arrows.

I sincerely hope the next game is a more focused effort. Odyssey is just way too long.

I enjoyed the ship stuff a lot actually. I found it relaxing. Like, on land I had no qualms about fast travelling but if I had to sail someplace I'd just sit back and enjoy. I just wish the ship had an interior like Black Flag, it makes it feel more real.

But I agree that it was bad in Origins

Also I wouldn't bet on Valhalla toning down the ship stuff because, you know, vikings

since i loved origins and i'm enjoying this quite a lot, i'll get this, but yeah that's what i'm worried about
hopefully it's a smaller and more maneuverable boat

You can upgrade the ship to the point where you bulldozed enemy ships into the bottom of the sea. Mine was overpowered af lol

It's like 100 times better than in Origins, and I loved both games.

I didn't like the multi-hit assassinations when I first started, but after awhile I came to appreciate the challenge they added to sneaking, where there were specific enemies you can't risk trying to take down before clearing out the weaker ones. Made it feel less like easy mode

I think I played Unity, whichever the one was in France, at launch and it was a broken mess. It's a shame because it did have some good ideas like putting the vertical climbing actions to separate buttons. I heard they patched it but eh.

I was a huge fan of the series up until 4 tho. I still like those games but I dont think the series is for me anymore. Maybe I'll give Syndicate a shot. The two newer ones don't really do it for me though from what I've seen but I get why people like them.

They fixed a lot of stuff on Unity apparently. I only got around to playing it about 2 years ago and I thought it was excellent. Its version of Paris one of the best cities AC has ever done. London felt like a letdown after

I really liked the setting of Unity, but something about those old AC games made me nauseous. I experienced it to a smaller extent with Origins, but Odyssey was the first where I could comfortably play for longer stretches.

I played Unity at launch and had no issues so was always confused by the hate. I loved the city and crowds, though, even though the story was very forgettable.

I was looking into origins and odyssey earlier, but after checking out some videos i dont think they have changed enough from brotherhood to be enjoyable for me.

so i spent thousand of wood upgrading my ram it's now 2 upgrades from max and i just rammed a boat and did shit damage the fuck is the point of this
i wish i can undo upgrades so i could all that wood on rowing instead
just outspeed everyone

Ramming is one of the best ways to damage ships. Just make sure your lieutenants match.

Make sure you're actually holding the button to ram. You'll see a slight camera shift. I went through most of the game just colliding with ships thinking I was ramming them, but doing it correctly changes everything lol
