There's 110m PS4s in the wild and probably 60m Xbox Ones? Consoles still serve a purpose, and most of it is due to convenience.

I was listening to Giantbomb's Hotspot podcast last week and they spent about 30 minutes talking how frustrating it was getting Sea of Thieves or Minecraft to work correctly on their PC. Meanwhile I just click install on my Xbox and boom im done.

The only reason I dont have a console is because during the PSWii60 days I realized I rarely even played my ps3 and in general I can go months or even a year without playing a game so it made no sense to get a product that only does one thing on the rare occasion Im in the mood

Im always using a computer so why not make it a gaming machine too? Even more better is that the only game i play now is cross platform with PS4 and PC

There isn't a $500-600 computer that you can build that will be better than the PS5 or X Box Series X.

I used to prefer console gaming primarily from ease of use, however in the past decade PC gaming has become much more standardized and consistent - from controller support to performance across a wide variety of hardware configurations.

I got a maxed-out RTX 2080 Razer Blade and have been gaming on it almost exclusively since then.

console because of convenience. I can sit on a couch, lay on a couch, recline in a chair. Fuck mouse and keyboard. I've had the best of both worlds and still choose console. You could say I suck at pc but I hate the controls anyway

...Obviously yes and has been this way for a long time. PS3/360 era console controllers plugged in via USB. Windows has native support for Xbox controllers.

I primarily play on my laptop now. Just Halo, Warzone, and Sea of Thieves at the moment. Used to love playing them on console but all three feel slow as fuck due to the locked low FOV, and in Sea of Thieves' case, the locked 30FPS(apparently even on the One X...crossplay between X1, X1X, and PC is enabled so idk why the 1X enhanced version was given the 4k30fps treatment with no option for 1080p60fps)

I'm still probably getting an SX unless I can find a really good deal on a gaming laptop that can achieve 1440p 60FPS on next gen games (current one is 1080p and barely hits 60fps unless I knock a few settings down a tad). I prefer the portability of a laptop.

Current systems: DS, 3DS, Vita, PS4

all I want is a Switch and a strong PC. After that, between those consoles and all the backwards compatibility etc they offer, Im fine with never buying hardware for many many many years

I was a huge PC gamer in like 2005ish and 2011ish. Only play games on console now...its just easier

Literally just last night me and my friend sat on my couch and played skullgirls local vs mode with 2 controllers. On PC.

Play on whatever you want. I enjoy both for different reasons. Most arguments from both sides are exaggerated.

But basically;;

• Consoles are more convenient to understand and wrap your head around for most people
• PC gaming is a more gaming enthusiast thing if you're delving into AAA games. Otherwise it can range on whatever that person is using it for

I don't think the GPU's that keep up with next gen consoles will be very price sensitive in Australia anytime soon so I'll probably go back to consoles for a while until it balances back out. Which tends to be how it works out for me.

I use an Xbox One controller with my PC all the time. Makes all those console games ported to PC that look and run better also play better.
