The George Floyd thing is nothing new, in 1992 there were teh Rodney King riots, which gave GTA San Andreas some inspiration for the last mission "End of the Line."

Before corona, there was swine flew, ebola, and influenza.

And racism and segregation were much much worse in the 1950's/1960's/ and every year before then. Also, there are certain states that are racist as fuck (i know because I've lived there).

I've just worked for newspapers before and I'm older than a lot of people here. Can't remember which topic it was that was most recent, it has happened a lot. I think the last one was where I told people to toughen up over the the protesting and stop being offended by everything and that Latin people had been killed by cops too and nothing was mentioned about it.

I see people like Rypt all the time on Twitter.

They're all QAnon types. Getting their info from fringe blogs, obsessed with the Deep State, etc. Everything is either completely unsourced when you dig deeply enough or, more comically, usually from some idiot's misinterpretation of an article or from loose associations.

Look at this article, for example, a black woman killed by a black man and people wanting police to investigate. Are we hearing about it over and over again? No, because it takes away from the fire that the media is trying to cause:

No, the reason you don't watch news is because it conflicts with your worldview and gives you cognitive dissonance, which you interpret as the media lying to you.

I know exactly how you feel, because that was me from 2004 to 2019.

But here's the deal - it's all lies. Your sources of information, the people who feed you this garbage - none of them actually know anything at all. And even I didn't realize it until I literally stood there, helping to intubate a patient going to the ICU for COVID19, while simultaneously on TV there were QAnon-types talking about #FilmYourHospital and how it's all fake. I couldn't hide from that cognitive dissonance any longer.

So when I started to fact check all the stuff I'd been promoting all these years - it's all wrong. Everything. They rely on you being unwilling / unable to fact check them - because you think only the other side lies to you. It's a mind prison.

well i watched it several times over to try and figure out where you got all that from. he's definitely against violence, but where are you getting he doesn't want protests?

he didn't say any of that was what was wrong with the country; he speaks of the younger generation being lost, and even gives an example of a person from his generation not guiding them back into line.

The violence and destruction is happening because he died, though, on top of the fact that there are too many incidents where things like this happen and people are angry and tired of it.

Multiple onlookers peacefully begged the officers to let him breathe. Everyone there recognized he was about to die. Riots are an unfortunate consequence of desperate peaceful please being deliberately ignored.

Uhhh, I saw plenty of news platforms talking about both of these stories. Salau was trending on twitter for a couple days I'm pretty sure.

Either way I don't see how that takes away from this supposed media conspiracy? One was a random act of violence and the other is another example of police brutality which, if you've forgotten, is what the protests are about!

I once posited that Donald Trump was a deep state conspiracy plant to destroy any chance of a populist president ever being elected again. I said it jokingly, but a few people started to ask if that might actually have been the point. I doubt it, honestly.

That said, QAnon being a deliberate source of fake information to make all information seem less credible is a legitimate theory.
