I think I am, I have been able to telecommute, but were have to go back to the office in 2 weeks time. I think I am just going to walk away. Because causes keep going up all over the country.

I lost my bartending job and opted to not go back because our country's collective reaction is beyond stupid.

edit: I have enough savings that I can afford to stay at home for a few months before I'll start hurting.

Nah. We're also not rushing to go back and were told that even when everyone else has gone back to the office, we'd likely be in the last phase and some people might not ever come off telework since a good chunk of the workers are 50+ years old. So I don't expect to resume work from the office before September

I'm starting to lose my freaking mind though after 3.5 months of telework. The firstest of the first world problems but holy shit

No, but I have my vacation days saved up so I can spam them if they want to bring us back to the office. Then I can wait for the inevitable return to working from home when incidents occur without having to go into the office myself.

If my company had been stubborn about us going back to the office sooner I probably would've left. But they've actually been very good, its looking unlikely we'll even be back before Christmas.

I got a month paid-time off and then had my son so I took a leave. I have up to a year off but now its unpaid...Im debating if I want to go back before the times up.

Was thinking of applying for other jobs that are more safe or considerate of employees and seeing how it went, then coming off my leave if it wasnt as lucrative.

I worked for Enterprise RAC and my branch manger and area manager got fired, I then got furloughed for about 4 weeks. They asked me to come back but told me id work at my normal branch but also have to work at a branch 1.5hrs away 1-2x a week. I came back for 1 week and just hated doing my job now because of my manager - I also interacted with two cars that I knew had COVID infected people inside because I found the positive paperwork for their test results inside of the car when I went to clean it. Said fuck it and i'm not doing this shit and quit. I really probably shouldnt have but I still live with my 2 parents and really just don't want to infect them.

that's some serious red flags. those fuckers in the car had no regards for public health they should've quarantined.

Trust me man none of our customers gave a fuck about the concern for others with this. I had to go pickup nurses that said they were literally just last night working in the ICU with COVID patients, customers telling me that they thought they already had it, and customers telling me its a hoax. Even the mangers didnt really give a fuck; like the higher up managers - the ones that manage the entire state care because they recognize the potential for lawsuits, but as for the individual store managers they dont care cause their paycheck is based on how many cars are on the road.
