Switch might be able to handle it, the game looks like it maxes out the PS4/XBO

It took a year for the Spyro and Crash trilogy to come to it, so I'm not really surprised.

not that the switch shouldnt be able to handle it, but I have heard the game has over 100 levels, and its for sure the highest budget title the series has ever had

By "100 levels" they probably mean like time trial mode and shit too.

I dont see why that would be the case, none of the previous promotional materials for other games have labeled the time trial mode as such. The fact that were even referring to it as a mode rather than levels makes that not make sense to me

I think the only fudging with the number here is perhaps the boss levels

There's no way in Hell this game legitimately has over 100 unique, full length Crash Bandicoot levels.

100+ levels of play sounds absolutely awful.

Agreed

id guess theyre considering those bonus segments levels

or theres some gimmick like in Yooka Laylee Impossible Lair where there are multiple forms of each level

I mean the N Sane Trilogy has about 80 levels overall

its not crazy to think that a PS4 game could handle 20 more of roughly the same quality. This game has serious Activision money behind it, especially given how the N Sane Trilogy has continuously been one of their highest selling titles for 3 years, I see why theyd go all in with it.

its not whether the PS4 can handle it or whatever, its whether the team can create that many levels of a certain level of quality

Those levels were designed over the course of years of development time for three games

not churned out in one or two years for a single game

Insanity was based on already existing levels, they just spruced up the graphics and re-created them. Handcrafting 100 (or 80) levels from scratch is an entirely different beast.

Im sure 100 levels is bound to have a few duds dont get me wrong, but its not like there isnt a pretty standard template as to what makes a Crash level. The developers have to have a pretty good idea of what works and have studied such past levels.

I mean, how many levels did stuff like Sonic Mania or Super Mario 3D World have? I actually dont know and if its far lower than 100 I can see more of how it would be an issue. I thought one of the recent Rayman games had about that many

No question, but were also dealing with a far larger dev team than Naughty Dog circa 1998. It can very well backfire Im not denying that, but I dont think this is quite as ridiculous as you all think

Actually the first 3 crash games came about a year apart. They could potentially pull it off.
