Like, I believe Butcher said that by the end of the series Harry is going to break all the Laws.

I don't think him breaking the "no mindfuckery" one is going to be pretty.

Like, Molly fucked it up, but when Molly fucks up it's like a brain surgeon twitched wrong.

Harry is a bit more like a shotgun lobotomy.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's the case. I can't wait to see most of them. Although, does DuMorne count for the no killing law, since it was before the series? I imagine Sue doesn't for necromancy because not human.

And yeah definitely right on that, generally with Harry's magic the control is a bit... Lacking.

Maybe, but I think the only reason to pull that twist would be if he wasn't DuMorne when Harry knew him, but Kemmler bodyswapped him. Which I don't think would end up being the case for a variety of reasons.

Anyway about 3/4 through Proven Guilty now and man I've got some questions. I don't remember if they were never answered or I just forgot. The big ones are (full series spoilers):

who wrecked Harry's car at the beginning? I know Ace from Summer Knight tried to kill him a couple times but I think that may have been a different book.

Some group with Hellfire wiped out most of Arctis Tor before Harry and friends arrive, was that ever really explained? I mean the simple answer is Denarians because Hellfire, but why? And also not sure even they'd be enough to pull it off, Harry says the entire Senior Council with Wardens maybe could have.

Also not really a question but Madrigal having been booked for the convention a year in advance seems like one hell of a coincidence

In Small Favours, Mab thinks it's a Denarian, and Harry suspects it was Thorned Namshiel. I don't think it was confirmed.

Yeah, that was Ace. He tries a few times and then really goes for it in Cold Days.

I forgot how much happens after Arctis Tor in Proven Guilty. The hearing was so awesome.

Im halfway through Turn Coat right now. I have two guesses as to who the Benedict Arnold is, Im excited for the reveal to see if Im correct.

If Harry doesnt end up with Murphy by the end of everything imma be really mad. Keep in mind I still have a handful of more books to read. Im usually only able to read a few chapters per day when my wife is off from work.

I believe it was confirmed, actually; Mab suggests as much near the end, in the hospital chapel. It's also heavily implied that Thorned Namshiel was part of the Black Council, and that's who attacked Arctis Tor.

Oh, and it just reminded me of something.

In the short story that's set from Marcone's POV, he straight-up says that he puts expensive, reinforced doors at areas that require security, but uses the cheapest ones he can find at areas that lend themselves to dramatic entrances. EXCLUSIVELY because of Harry.

Cinder Spires Book 2 is next up after these two Dresden books.

I like everything Butcher does so I'm looking forward to it. Plus it basically has Mister as a POV character which is dope.

Listens-to-Wind fucks up a skinwalker
Merlin makes a solid plan and puts it in everyone's mind in like .2 seconds WHILE fighting an Outsider
McCoy nukes a vampire from orbit
McCoy makes it VERY clear that he could kill Lara in a second
McCoy kills about 150 spec ops dudes with two gestures

Basically anything McCoy does.

Yeah McCoy is a badass
i really enjoyed the second half of Turn Coat. First half was kind of forgettable. Small Favor still my favorite for the off the rail action from page 2 until the end. Turn coat slides into my #2 position right behind Small Favor. Onto Changes today.

Haven't seen it personally but from what I've heard: not good at all. Very, very loose adaptation of the first book and the rest of it is all original stuff. And the characters aren't much like the books

Ha, one of the short stories is about the Cubs curse. That was great. I've really enjoyed most of these so far, I never read them my first time through the series.

I think I've got one or two more that take place between Small Favor and Turn Coat, then I can continue the series proper. Getting a little worried I'm not gonna finish in time though tbh
