A black guy attacked an innocent employee from behind and kept hitting him again and again. Then when he was caught, he claimed that he was called the N-word. Twitter and the news came out and tried to defame and get the employee, who was at the hospital at the time, fired and tried to reason with the attacker's motives.

When Macy's confirmed that the n-word wasn't said with video proof and the attack was unproked, twitter was silent and the news reports disappeared. A man not only went to the hospital, but could also have lost his job and his reputation if a video didn't exist.

It's so fucking stupid to do your job without hurting anyone and someone to casually come to you and try to ruin your life.

You can hear the employee repeatedly say I'm Sorry to the guy.

If we are investigating this entirely, why is an employee who said nothing derogatory and being attacked apologizing instead of calling for security?

I'm not saying I do not believe what is being said, but that seems counter-intuitive.

Mentally defense is the first response to trauma. Apologizing for whatever he did wrong in the moment is a natural reaction, even if he did nothing wrong. It's basic psychology, especially for someone who has never been punched or threatened.

Likely the footage recorded from the cameras in the store, which were turned over to the police. Not the cell phone video. 99% of the time footage like this isn't presented to the public. I worked retail in Philadelphia and Atlanta, both places we had multiple incidents, all times we turned over any footage with potential evidence to the authorities. It wasn't left in our hands to post on the internet.

No, it is not. This 100% a crime, but we don't know if it's a hate crime. Just because you commit a crime against someone of a different race than you, that doesn't automatically make it a hate crime. We saw like 20 seconds of video. Even if the guy called him that, which I HIGHLY doubt, tbh, it's still 100% a crime to beat the shit out of someone like that.
