alright yeah so with this nah Meyneth wouldn't work, didn't realize she was so directly named to the Face so soon... so Nem! At least it's obscuring, and if you were referring to Face Nemesis you'd already believe her name is Meyneth!

by these points you get an abundance of anti-Mechon weapons for everyone! plus really Melia/Sharla don't really even need to bother, possibly Riki's DoT arts

I've even been running a Sharla controlled team with no Shulk for a large stretch of Mechon zones! plus some unique enemies with with the Melia/Dunban/Reyn topple-lock party... god their topple goes forever

not to mention stuff I don't think you're far enough for yet

Oops I started doing new quests after Mechonis Core and now I'm level 91. It just kinda happened. Started with the quests that have monsters in the mid-70s and as I finished more and more, I ended up strong enough to go back to the ones I'd been skipping over. Fighting the telethia in Alcamoth serves as pretty good exp too.

That's true. Dunban and Reyn are the most gimped against Mechon, but even then, those two are good at toppling so they can get their damage in even without anti-Mechon weapons or constant Monado Enchants.

This is why Expert Mode is such a godsend. It might actually be the single-best change the Definitive Edition made. I've been taking my time putzing around the game world and fighting unique monsters for fun (and to collect art books), and when it came time to progress the story I just shaved off 10 levels so I didn't steamroll the plot. This should be the industry standard going forward.

Also I thought grinding for Art Books would be hell but it's actually super easy because you can save before you open the chest, then reload, and the chest stays. You can even have multiple chests from the same unique monster onscreen at the same time.

Like mnk just said, it's really easy to just "find yourself" at level 90 after Mechonis Core, which was a problem on the Wii version because endgame bosses literally couldn't touch you. I gimped myself to 70 for the endgame here and had a great time.

gosh Alvis really makes you want to keep continuing down the story focus at this point, even as a replay

I did it! Slayed God, became God, got rid of gods lol Game beated! It feels so good to have finally beaten this game after leaving it unfinished for like 8 years.

So let me get this right though... Zanza(Klaus?) was a regular human in our world on a space station orbiting Earth and somehow did a thing and destroyed the universe only to become a God of a new universe created in its place. Somehow Meyneth also became a god(I guess because she was so close to him or touching him or something when it happened) and Alvis was the space stations AI system that also somehow became a God. Is this all accurate? I really did not expect that at all lol.

Side note: I never sat on the title screen... when it becomes night-time and the Monado is glowing faintly, it's so pretty.

I bought both Bloodborne and shekiro and both games I got a couple hours in and was like nah, not feeling it.

Not sure I want to play another 100+ hour RPG after this one

I feel ya. I just did this and Witcher 3 back to back, logged 100+ in each. I definitely want a shorter game after this one... I've been thinking about Bloodstained for a while, but my skinflint ass refuses to commit before it's on sale for the PS4. There's absolutely no way I can try something like... 100% the FFVII Remake next week.

Future Connected PONSPECTOR'D.

I did just about everything, including all side quests, in 13 hours. Despite the relatively quick length, it felt like it dragged, which is not a good sign (though maybe it's because I'm pretty burned out). I've heard praise lavished on the Bionis Shoulder, but to me it just seemed like an ordinary area, eclipsed by a good half-dozen from the main game. The music was also pretty forgettable for Xenoblade... evidenced by the fact that I can't remember it after 13 hours.

The only true indictment, though, is for the party members... seriously, we get two of Riki's annoying kids instead of freakin Tyrea? I can't be the only one thinking Tyrea would have been a crazy party member, maybe a cross between Colony 9 Fiora and Dunban.

All in all, you can't much complain about a freebie in an already complete game, and I like how they gave Melia's arc a very well deserved end.

the variable burst affinities to build up party gauge, MF's break resistance, and the succession of Chain Links and aaaaa it's hard to get everything just right for S

also goddamn his AoE Daze attack making me sit and watch MF slowly kill me as I urgently try to spam Jaws of Death until it's just too late (and screw you Sharla healing me when I'm setting up Jaws of Death)

*edit* oh yeah and the bastard's damn block rate always kicks in during my Blossom Dance

I just did that quest and got Mind Blast/Blinding Blossom as a two-fer from Geldesia (and Thunder from the other one) and now I look up Ether Drain and wtf.

Oh wait haha, for a second I forgot that you can get manuals from the gold chests of regular enemies too. Was about to say...

Xenosaga no

Xenoblade is just Xenoblade.... although XB2 has KOS-MOS and T-elos in it but they're basically easter-egg blades that are super rare to obtain in the first place, but they do have their own story missions

... I can't really remember how much of actual XS story is referenced or how much I'm mis-remembering instead from Project X Zone 2 which has a Fiora/KOS-MOS pairing

ehhhh truthfully there is meaning to the Zohar symbolism but it's hard to really explain without getting deep into XB2 spoilers

without getting too far into it there's actually assets for something in XB2 originally named zohar in the game files

I got two Black Liver Beans pretty painlessly. Haven't even finished exploring the area yet, but did do some backtracking to collect spawn points with the knowledge that it could be bad. Used them on Colony 6 right away, so I guess we'll see if the third one for the Collectopedia comes easily too.
