The whole office made him go nuts over the course of the seasons and it's pretty fun to analyze despite the fact that he's a douche.

--Aspiring temp/business school, just trying to make it
--Ego power trip when he realizes his environment is a circus
--Struggle between getting some tail at the cost of losing his sanity while he's stuck during his transition phase
--Power trip continues; blows up in his face
--Fake sense of everything, realizes it without realizing it; turns to drugs
--Realizes he fucked up AND his environment is still a circus; rock bottom
--Falls back to tail, manipulation to avoid admitting harsh truths to himself in the mirror
--"Woke" phase + extra douche = plummets even further
--Weak ego; falls complete victim to his excuse making

he just got lucky and then developed a drug addiction and got way in over his head and fucked up repeatedly and then was fired after losing the company millions

he was young, got cocky, was stupid.
