I just feel like Annie is the most overrated character of the Greendale 7. She never gets lumped in as "bad" the way Britta and Shirley do, and I feel like those two are just more consistently interesting.

I can at least see why someone can find Britta more interesting. The only time I can ever remember Shirley being even somewhat compelling after S1 is the foosball episode. Her contributions to discussions become increasingly just "Oh hey I'm a Christian did you guys forget!" If Annie were written like Shirley was, some people would claim the character was anti-Semitic propaganda, and I'm not sure they'd be wrong.

Troys 21st birthday episode, the group goes to The Ballroom and it turns out that Shirley used to frequent that bar back in her alcoholic days. She chooses to act overly defensive and insecure when confronted with the picture of her sloppily drunk, and storms out as if she was a victim. Way to rain on Troys big day.

Dude literally all of the main seven have acted equally selfish in one way or another. Also why such fervant Shirley hate to begin with? Pierce has the same bad qualities as Shirley amplified by ten.

First off, Im going to ask you to calm down. Secondly, Pierce is ten times the character Shirley is, though thats not saying much. Pierces character is predicated on being obliviously insulting and intentionally manipulative but in a comedic way. Shirleys character is predicated on being a goody two shoes who is victim to people whom she judges. She whomps.

I don't see why you're trying to get me to calm down. You've complained about Shirley every single day, we've heard it. Hell I don't even think anyone has strongly disagreed with you.

Well the point is they're all pretty flawed, selfish people. Britta also acts like a goody two shoes, but is incredibly judgemental. Pierce is outwardly racist and homophobic and sure that's the point and it gets some laughs, but you think Shirley's schtick is worse?

Yes. Shes never had a comedic scene. Not one. Ive never come even close to laughing at anything that shes ever said or done. I am pretty sure she was designed to be not funny. Not sure what she was designed to be but it isnt remarkable.

Yeah Shirley is only the weakest because they didn't really know what to do with the character at a certain point. She was just as necessary to the show the others were in the beginning.
