Like, where it's a box and you attach it to a monitor?

Android is a non-GNU implementation. This is one of the reasons Richard Stallman was always an ornery butt about it before Android was even a thing and it turns out he was right after all. Samsung Dex is built into Galaxy phones if you're just looking for something temporary. You just plug it into the TV with an HDMI to USB-C cable.
