Western-developed games are apparently allowed to have explicit sex scenes and show female nipples with no problems, but Japanese-developed games that have no sex scenes or anything else explicit are somehow required to censor their games even more. Put your anti-anime bias (I know that's you on a new alt, Hairistotle) aside for five seconds and try to explain how that's fair in any way, shape, or form. Because it blatantly isn't.

The main reason was because gearbox fucked up and screwed sega when they were working on the localization and stopped working for it and left the whole thing in a weird legal limbo

The "legal limbo" was a mix of Sony policy and this perception that Sega has that western gamers are all hacking cheaters. They had no realistic way to secure the PC client and they couldn't get it onto a console.

Microsoft then offered up the windows store as DRM and they ported from that to Xbox. Microsoft also paid licensing fees for the shit Sega doesn't own like Hatsune Miku.

I thought the issue with Sony is that niche Japanese developers are having a tough time dealing with them because they're now based on California and aren't treated as a priority.

There are plenty of PS4 games with sex and nudity. None however are marketed or treated as softcore porn games.

People are feel free to post their examples of Japanese games that were unfairly censored. Haven't seen any posted in the topic yet.
