There is zero chance this game will work well on current Gen base consoles. That's likely the major delay problems, not optimizing for next Gen.

I didnt mean to say a bad game is always bad, what I meant to say is if you release a game in a bad state you will always regret it, Miyamoto explained when asked by TheJWittz.

Imagine having what is already a super simple and succinct quote even further broken down and reexplained and still not understanding it.

The quote isnt an excuse for bad games or infinite delays its a creators right to try and give consumers the best product they can possibly produce given the time and budget. Its a creator speaking from his point of view and nothing else, and people like the quote because of its message and are patient with the creative process. I know you clearly dont understand that.

Frustrating, but this is acceptable. Delay is worth it when they fix the bugs. And they're still gonna miss stuff - no team catches everything.

An easy to way to tell if it's because of consoles is if an Xbox version isn't playable for journalists later this month. Xbox has the marketing rights.

If you were happy with how The Witcher 3 performed on consoles at launch you'l be fine.

And again to clarify next gen consoles have nothing to do with it. Next gen versions are next year. If you're playing Cyberpunk 2077 on a PS5/XSX this year it'll be the BC version. Probably will have a stable framerate but that's about it.

I didnt play it on console, my pc is more than enough to handle W3 on ultra but that was when it first came out.

Im sure cdred will do fine with it, it just all seemed too coincidental.

I promise you there is no fucking way it's going to run on og ps4/xb1 with a stable framerate at launch, and I'd bet my hat that the delay is because of that. They had to do a literal year's worth of patches, nearly one every couple months, in order to make witcher 3 run the way it does now. I remember it on launch on ps4, framerate got reaaaal bad sometimes, particularly any time fog or smoke was on screen. There were more problems than just framerate too. They're probably trying to make it work as good as possible on the OG systems, but make no mistake, it'll be heavily downgraded from the pc version and the inevitable ps5/xbx versions.

Unless you'd prefer it comes out rushed and full of bugs and when it's patched and functional a few months later its reputation is already ruined?

Im still looking forward to the game but I personally dont think itll live up to the insane hype. People should really keep their expectations in check instead of expecting the best game ever made. I hope itll turn out really good but I wont expect a 10/10.

I'm looking forward to it, but I have no hype around it. I have faith is going to be at least a quality game, but I'm keeping my expectations well in check.
