Henry Ford was a literal Nazi.
Not a literary Nazi, not a grammar Nazi -- a Nazi's Nazi.

His Dearborn Independent publication claimed that Jews had no civilization, aspiring religion, or great achievements. Through this company, he published 91 issues of "The International Jew," an anti-Semitic pamphlet accusing Jews of holding an evil influence over America and the world. He also supported Adolf Hitler and his practices.

We have millions of cars in this country which bear the name of a man who thought the Jews were the world's enemy. I don't hold his descendants or the current shareholders responsible for his hatred, but I think a rebranding should be welcome.

Is his anti-Semitism confirmed? There's a rumor which has been debunked that he paid women and people of color less than white men. He was said to have been a country club bigot. I'd accept that claim at face value. But when it comes to accusations of strong anti-Semitism or pro-Nazi sentiment, all I ever hear or read is that he didn't do enough to attack Hitler during World War 2 or that he hosted Leni Riefenstahl when she was in America. But other American producers had done the same -- some of whom were Jewish.

I'd readily disown him if there were some proof of the extent of his bigotry beyond him putting a stereotypical Jewish beard on Mickey Mouse in a black-and-white cartoon sketch or only insulting the Nazis in a parsley three cartoons in total. But everything I've heard or read has been hearsay.
