Just finished ep14 where the lady chooses to get executed to protect her son from his family's legacy and Jason chooses to let it happen rather than intervene

A very melancholy episode. If I was in Jason's position I'm not sure if I could have done the same thing. There's something so anguishing about a happy lie. I would want to know the truth but of course in this case Jason was probably looking at 0 happy, 5 unhappy if he did that.

I wish it played similar to True Detective season 1. Slow, methodical, violent.

It might get like that later on when they're running out of ideas but this first season is really strong. You have to accept the premise of the BAU but I've swallowed more absurd pills to enjoy a show.

I will say though, as someone who loves the show, the last like, 2-3 seasons kind of sucked.

The forced (second to last season spoilers) Reid/JJ ship at the end of the second to last season almost ruined the show for me.

Huh so in an earlier episode Thomas Gibson's character implied his home had been abusive but I guess he was just playing the suspect based on this brother episode.

Its on CBS All Access I think..

It was a CBS show and they don't like to work with hulu. They were the only major broadcast network that didn't team up with hulu and it was cause they were planning CBS All Access

some of them aren't bad. like the whole thing with the serial killer who was stalking the team leader, went on for 2 seasons.

That one was so good. Hotch holding up the son's picture and telling the guy 'You lose' right before they execute him was great.

Me and my ex watched most of the first 4 seasons together before she broke up with me. I've caught episodes beyond that here and there but it mostly just hurts my heart to watch now. Gideon was my favorite character anyway so I'm not sure how much I'd be missing if I didn't watch the rest of the series.

I did see the episode in Season 5 where Hotch's ex wife gets killed. Glad I watched that one by myself since it turned me into a blubbering mess tbh.

That whole arc is just actually really good. A lot of hard hitting moments, especially Hotch telling Jack to "work the case."

Just right in the god damned feels, man. And the pay off was so bittersweet but satisfying.

Honestly with the way Gideon was you might've thought this was a series finale. Anyway I see most top rated episodes are later on so I'm curious to see how they top this first season. There were some real bangers like the hostage train and the insider who ranted about everyone on the team.
