And not just in the general election, but local as well.

Otherwise all of this shit will just be for lip service

No politician is gonna care about these protests if the people protesting don't vote

Obama didn't even give Occupy a chance to vote before coordinating the violent crackdown.

Also, it would probably be helpful if the Democratic candidate wasn't a leading architect of the way the country is now.

The protests did so much more in a couple weeks than voting did their entire lives.

Nothing has been accomplished though

Mn's new council thing is probably the biggest but even they don't know how it's gonna work.

Everything else is just a promise so far

i mean, i hope they do too, but these protests have made a change. The ball is finally moving. Slowly, but no one expected it overnight...These people are doing good. Don't try to take that good away just because they don't vote.

and yet, more has been accomplished than through voting. Do you honestly think these problems began and will end with Trump? These issues have been around for decades and we've been in this downward slope for a long time. Clinton and Obama didn't change shit.

What's actually been done that can't just be undone if none of them vote

Public influence and social change. it doesn't happen merely by voting. you need to make it the norm. You need to make the idea the popular idea. Its finally getting to that point.

Damn who knew Biden was a founding father. You'd think they would campaign harder on that.

Sure, go vote. But keep protesting because no matter who you vote for in November, or in your local elections, they won't do shit until you force them to do shit.

I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm just saying what the protesters are doing is important. There is no reason to take that away for any reason. Its not like all of a sudden everyone will stop caring. You're seeing a positive shift from those who might not have been sympathetic to the cause the last several times. You're seeing celebrities be more vocal, which has a huge influence. you're seeing companies make their own in house policy changes to aid in positive support for this movement. That's how it starts.

Yea, and Hilary was a terrible candidate. Celebrities still have incredible influence overall. They don't bat 1000

I think their influence is overstated unless you mean they push the public more right

No, i mean they have influence and are able to reach broader audiences. Just because Liberal or Progressive opinions don't win every time doesn't make that false.
