If someone is hurting enough that they do something drastic, why should they be disparaged for that? We have no idea what their stories are. Doesn't matter if you think an attempt wasn't "serious" or not. Some people, for whatever reason, don't know any other way to let others know that they need help.

Maybe we should start listening to cries for help.

I can't pretend that I would know what to do if a friend or loved one told me they were going to commit suicide. Luckily there are options besides "do nothing" or, god forbid, "ridicule them".
