It is very strange how his supporters do treat him like some sort of a deity.

There was a time when being a republican just meant you believed in a limited federal government that prioritized fiscal responsibility and preventing the government from stripping individual liberties.

Nowadays, it seems like being a republican means being a member of a cult. Idk, man. Seems like the republican party has drifted very far from God's light.

The idea of "God's light" is what got them here. White daddy's gonna smite our enemies and answer our prayers. Trump exploited the right wing's decades-long campaign to hammer in that belief means more than facts and that explains how so many Christians can rationalize their vote and support of Donnie Deals. They've been trained to ignore what doesn't fit within their worldview, and the Republicans squeeze the shit out of it in every election. The fact that Cheeto got so much support from the Christian community proves how negotiable and ultimately bankrupt their base morality really is.

Regardless of all of that, "God's light" couldn't stop this very basic, stupid shit from happening. If God's light doesn't dissuade you from voting for the Grab Em By The Pussy Guy, you have to wonder just how effective God's light really is.
