Never turned a horror game off but did throw off the headset when that little creature that walks on all 4 legs jumped out of the wall in VR RE7.

Pretty much the first time the xenomorph actually attacks you in Alien: Isolation. I couldn't see myself dealing with that stress for tens of hours more.

Try closer to 20 lol. The game is bloated af but still amazing.

I only noped out of a few games as a kid. Resident Evil 2 when I was like 9 on Ps1, Alien vs Predator when I was like 11 and first getting into old school PC games.

Resident Evil VII demo in VR, the part early on in the attic when there are mannequins facing the wall, then after you look at the desk, there's a click, and the mannequins are facing you when you turn back around.

That was it. I took that headset off, powered down my PS4, and never opened that game again.

Not a horror game by any stretch of the imagination, but Andross in Star Fox 64 coming out of the green void and laughing at you creeped me the hell out as a little kid. I turned it off the first time I saw that.

Oh, speaking of non-horror games, there were two demos for Jimmy Neutron games on my dad's old computer. They were buggy with old 3D graphics and in the pyramid level, you could ledge grab the side of the level and fall out the other side. You'd fall forever into a blue void where eventually you'd find T poses of Jimmy and Goddard. Creepy and unnerving as a little kid. The other game didn't have any glitches, but I think it was a FPS with the goo aliens, and seeing them come at me scared the shit out of me.

When I first got Super Mario Galaxy I'd never had a visually impressive console game like that before, I was terrified of Mario Game Over-ing, for some reason I felt like there would be real life consequences somehow.

Probably the closest I came was in P.T. Pretty sure I kept playing but it's one of the only times in recent memory (not counting when I was a kid) that made me want to stop playing.
